This year Unseen teams up with LensCulture, a global online magazine and platform celebrating current trends of contemporary photography in art, media, politics, commerce and popular culture worldwide.
Sharing Unseen's goal to help photographers further their career within the industry, LensCulture organises various competitions to provide photographers from all over the world with opportunities for immediate exposure and meaningful feedback from a renowned group of industry professionals. Their latest competition, the LensCulture Portrait Awards, seeks to discover the very best contemporary portrait photography from all cultures around the world. Believing portraits to be the most fundamental type of photograph – helping people to understand and celebrate human connections on a universal level – LensCulture encourages anyone, from anywhere, with a new perspective on the modern-day portrait to enter. In total six winners, eight Jurors' Picks and 25 finalists are chosen with the aim of discovering the full potential of 21st century portraiture and exploring some of the best examples of portraits being made today.
